NOT! Perrspective is everyting and the numbers say what you want but here is what I have learned.

This weekend was the first weekend for the Boise, Eagle, Meridian Fall Collection of Homes. I went to two kick off parties and toured several homes. To my surprise, even after the financial market crisis last week, I talked to several builders who are excited about their business.They were not only currently building but had business in the pipeline as well. I won't mention names because I am not sure they would want their colleagues, who are struggling, to know but for example would you believe that three out of four builders I asked about sold homes this past weekend during the fall show? I was surprised as well. If you read the news it sounds like no one is buying or building.

So while big picture people correctly tell everyone that the construction industry is struggling. They foret to tell you that there are some cool homes on the market and they are selling. There are some great communities to live in and at prices people are willing to pay.

You have heard the construction industry and real estate markets are struggling but there is so much more to it. The investors are mostly gone and so the pie is not only fractions smaller, which means it can feed less people, but also there are still leftovers from the previous market. The current market can not support even the amount of people trying to stay in business so there is going to be some more weeding out I imagine.
