For Boise builders, the canvas for their work is beautiful.

This morning I was driving into downtown to my office, and as we all know, our weather has been a little funny lately. Today, the sun was peeking through the clouds in layers: cloud, blue sky/sun, cloud, blue sky/sun. It was really pretty. Just under those clouds, the hills were begininning to turn green. Not everywhere, so there were swirly patches of green and then brown and yellow.

It was really beautiful. Almost like a painting, and because I'm always thinking about homes, I thought to myself, "Wow, the homebuilders here have an incredible backdrop to their homes, even before they start."

I would anticipate that if we lived anywhere else, that wouldn't always be the case. For many builders, the homes they build are "their art"; and instead of a white canvas to get them started, they have tons of color, textures and beauty as their background to create a masterpiece.

So as you're driving around town over the next few days, take a look around at the canvas we all share - it's priceless. And while you're doing so, keep your eyes out for the best use of that background. Complete works of art.
