Read the following article and see if you can guess which housing market the writer is writing about. I've replaced all the references to the particular housing market and any other key words that might give away the answer with blank spaces. Youll find the answer at the end of the article.

A recent report for the fourth quarter of 2007 found the price of housing in Boise moderately overpriced. So what does that mean with regard to the risk of future price declines?

Although I always stress that all real estate is local and it is imperative to understand the dynamics of the local market, I just couldn't help posting some positive news on the housing market nationwide.

I know I have been advised to stop trying to save the home building industry and to start selling myself by providing people with valuable information. But I cant help myself. And I believe that by trying to save my industry from the semingly unrelenting barrage of downbeat news, I am helping myself and my business.

A good friend of mine who reads all of my blogs recently observed that I seem to be using my blogs to save the home building industry. He expressed his concern that most of my readers would view that as self-serving. He strongly encouraged me to start selling myself by provide people with invaluable information.

I am frequently asked by prospective customers how much I charge per square foot. I recently taught an Institute of Residential Marketing course for Builders, Developers and Realtors. One of the chapters was titled Customer Value and Marketing and provided a methodology for measuring value other than by price per square foot.

As I emphasized in one of my previous blogs, it is important to "Know the Facts" about our local market instead of simply believing that all the negative news about the national housing marketing applies to Boise and the greater Treasure Valley.

As a Builder Home Builder, I know Im supposed to be informing you about building. But to help me do that, I am asking you to inform me about you. Trey recently asked you when you thought the Boise Real Estate Market would recover. As a Builder in the Boise, Idaho MSA and an instructor for the National Association of Home Builders Institute of Residential Marketing, I would like to ask you a few more questions so I can better understand our local housing market and, more specifically, you the home buyer.

As I have stated in previous posts, housing affordability is a complicated issue. Building affordable housing is not simply a matter of builders building less expensive homes. It requires the cooperation of a number of parties, including but not limited to state and local governments, land owners both those selling developable land and those living adjacent to that land, lenders, Realtors, and the home buyers themselves. Today we will discuss the home buyers.

While the national picture is bleak to the point of necessitating immediate congressional action to shore up home prices, local media outlets should know the facts about their local market before taking those national headlines and applying them to their own housing markets.

Don't think history repeats itself. Think again. The reason we study history is to hopefully learn from our past mistakes. It appears that as a whole, we either skipped a chapter or two, or possibly just forgot the lesson. Here's a refresher course.

I received an email this week from National Association of Home Builders Public Affairs staff asking for input with respect to consumer protection strategies. They asked for my thoughts about what potential home-buyers can do protect themselves if good, reputable builders unexpectedly run into financial problems and cannot complete a job. For example: what kinds of questions should a potential client ask? What third party sources exist that can offer object evaluations of a builders financial stability? So, I thought I would share my reply with my BuildingCredibility.com blog readers.

As a long-term investment, homeownership is still one of the best investments for individual households. What buyers need to realize is that housing markets, like all markets, inevitably have their ups and downs. And homeownership has a track record that is virtually unmatched by any other purchase in terms of its real benefits.

This blog is for all those guys out there who for whatever reason have waited until the last minute to shop for that special someone.  We've all seen the commercials showing the guy giving his loved one the diamonds or the new car.  Any schmuck can give his loved one a diamond or a new car.  Why not give her a new home for Christmas.

Most consumers believe that the Builders profit is much higher than it really is. Every year the National Association of Home Builders publishes The Cost of Doing Business Study The study is based on the results of a financial survey conducted by the National Association of Home Builders and provides a rare glimpse at profitability, cost of sales, and expenses from hundreds of home builders across the country. Just how profitable were the builders surveyed?
