A continued increase in approved subdivisions and unoccupied spec homes favors consumers as fewer new home sales boost inventory and slow pace of home prices. The Subdivision Quarterly, a survey of the new construction market, is an industry resource that tracks active new subdivisions and records data on vacant lots, housing starts and available spec homes. Added to this information is MLS data on new and existing home sales and prices. Taken together, this data forms a set of metrics, the Real Estate Barometer (REBAR).

Im on the green team for our local branch of Habitat for Humanity, and this team of people is looking into ways to make Habitat homes greener ei: more durable, more efficient, and healthy for the families that will inhabit them. One of my tasks as a green team member was to research local availablity of green lumber. This blog is me sharing those results with you.

Best place to live, work, play, careers and invent. Even UHaul agrees- For cities with 5,000 to 10,000 families moving, Boise, Idaho, had the highest percentage of growth for the second year in a row, with 12.9 percent more families moving in than out.
