tax credits for energy efficiency
Main / The Durable Home

April 10 2008 the U.S. senate passed the housing stimulus bill. the provisions adopted by the senate includes:

1. extension of the energy efficient homes tax credit to December 31,2010
2. Expends the commercial building deduction to Dec. 31,2009 and increase from $1.80 sqft to 2
$2.25
3. Resurrects the expired $500 credit to Dec 31,2009
the fate is uncertain in the House but seems to have good support. More  information on this can be found at www.natresnet.org or www.energystar.gov good time to contact your congress person and let them know  you want to support the bill.I am not a big fan of tax credits, but a little money on the table seems to help move people  along towards energy efficiency. I would like to see more credits for performance instead of design.
