If the candidates can stop just long enough to stop slinging mud we could maybe get back to the issues on everyones minds. For me the environment ranks at the top as I believe it drives the economy. Case in point look at the effect of higher gas. That being said I found this article very interesting. The most telling stat "Sen. Joe Biden, whose rating by the League of Conservation Voters is identical to Obama's: both voted for the environment 67 percent of the time in 2007. McCain's rating by the league is zero for last year"

Some of you may be familar with a plan by oil baron T. Boone Pickens to increase wind production to remove the need for natural gas as a source of electricity. The question is will he get the support, and does it make sense?

As a builder I cant help but be impacted by the constant deluge of bad news. Crude oil increases impact our business from the materials that we use to the transportation of people to jobs. Declines in housing starts and house values decrease margins and economies of scale. Is there a bright side? Certainly.

Crude oil jumped over $10 a barrel yesterday. The corresponding effect is expected to be $.50cents at the pumps 4 weeks from now. What people aren't noticing is that Natural Gas is increasing along the same lines.

As a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Pilot builder I have the opportunity to communicate openly with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) about the trends seen around the nation in regards to green construction. Yesterday I was part of a Webinar about Green Marketing and I wanted to share some insights from that.

These components individually do not necessarily mean greater efficiency, BUT when you combine these factors together the process improves DRAMATICALLY.
