Re:Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS) certification from the National Association of Home Builders.
"Aging in Place" is simply a matter of preserving the ability for people to remain in their home or neighborhood as long as possible. It's not just having a house for living, but having a home for life. They are many things that can be done to allow one to stay in their home for a longer period of time. Aging in Place is also known as Universal Design. It is about creating a home for everyone, regardless of age or ability. This includes having features and products that make a home safe and more comfortable for all residents, even when their needs and abilities change. This does not mean that your home will look like an institute. A true Universal Designed/Aging in Place home first appears like any other home; then you start to see the details. I would be glad to discuss this with you if you are futher interested in the topic.
